Manuel Sanchez died peacefully surrounded by family in San Jose on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019. He was 69.

Mr. Sanchez was born on June 5, 1949 in Maria de la Torre, Zacatecas, Mexico to Cayetana Madera and Jesus Sanchez. He was a hardworking man dedicated to providing for his family. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico and spending time at his ranch. He was a passionate baseball fan that loved watching his Dodgers play. Spending time with his family is what he cherished most. He was a resident of Watsonville.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Sanchez; his children, Hector Sanchez and Olga Sanchez; his mother, Cayetana Madera; his siblings, Roberto Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Ramon Sanchez, Gilberto Sanchez and Abigal Sanchez; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Sanchez; and his sister, Elvira Sanchez.

A visitation service will be held on Feb. 28 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated on March 1 at St. Patrick’s Church at 10 a.m. with the burial following directly after at Valley Public Cemetery.
