WATSONVILLE — Maria de Los Angeles Navarro died at Dominican Hospital surrounded by her family on Friday, May 26, 2017. She was 65.

Mrs. Navarro was born to Ignacio Diaz and Timotea Cervantes in Jalisco, Mexico. She was a resident of this community for 43 years. She was an excellent home maker, always cooking and baking for her family. Mrs. Navarro also liked to sing, knit, watch novelas (soap operas) and play loteria (picture bingo). But most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, which she would say they were the “light of her eyes.”

Mrs. Navarro is survived by her son, Jorge Navarro; three daughters, Virginia Flores-Navarro, Adriana Navarro, and Sandra Diaz; one brother, Ignacio Diaz; one sister, Alicia De Leon; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon T. Navarro (2011).

A Memorial visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Sunday, June 4 from 5-9 p.m. with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Valley Catholic Church on Monday, June 5 on Monday at 1 p.m.
