Maria Garcia died at her home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018. She was 92.

Mrs. Garcia was born to Manuel Del Hoyo and Soledad Flores in Durango, Mexico on Oct. 30, 1925. She settled in this community with her family for over 50 years. During these years, she held many jobs, but before retiring she worked in a local apple shed. She was a hard worker and very dedicated to her family. She was a woman of faith, and liked to read the Bible. She was a sweet loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and she also had a special handcraft skill, she would make dolls for her grandchildren, and hand sewn kitchen towels. She especially loved to spend time with her great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Garcia is survived by her four sons, Miguel, Jaime, Manuel, and Raul Garcia; four daughters, Socorro, Concepcion, Graciela, and Rosa Garcia; 29 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children, Gregorio, Maria de la Luz, and Gloria Garcia.

Funeral arrangement have been entrusted to Mehl’s Colonial Chapel.
