On January 18, 2019 Marie Mae Silva went to meet her Heavenly Father. She was 87.

Marie was born in Fresno to her parents William And Bertha Arnbrister. She was a kind-hearted woman devoted to her family. She worked for over 30 years for the municipal courts before retiring in 1988 to be with the love of her life Earl Morris Silva who she was married to for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling to various destinations around the world. She was an excellent cook and often delighted her family with meals such as, baked apple pies and holiday dinners. One of her favorite hobbies was quilting. Many of her beautiful quilts have been lovingly gifted to family and friends. She loved gardening. Her gardens boasted delicious fruits and vegetables along with beautiful roses and hydrangeas. She was active for many years at the Corralitos Community Church, Pajaro Valley Quilters and the Corralitos Woman’s Club. She embraced all aspects of life. She cherished her family very much and what she loved most was spending time with them. She was adored by her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie was a resident of Watsonville.

She is survived by her daughters, Joan Garrett and Terri  Jimenez; sons-in-law Tony Jimenez and James Hoover; grandchildren, Jill Himan, Mindi Adams, Gregory Garrett, James Hoover and Cari Baum; and great-grandchildren, Cailey, Abigail, Brooklyn, Michael, Austin, Darren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Silva; and daughters, Carol Hoover and Patricia Silva.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 26th from 9:00-10:00 AM with service beginning at 10:00 AM at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel located at 609 Main St. in Watsonville. The burial to follow directly after at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park located at 127 Hecker Pass Rd. in Watsonville.

The family requests any donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Corralitos Community Church.
