Minor injuries reported in rollover

WATSONVILLE—Two men and a young boy escaped major injuries when their car flipped over Sunday on a curving section of Buena Vista Drive.

California Highway Patrol officer Daniel Ibarra said two adult men and the boy were aboard the Honda Civic when the driver lost control on the rain-slicked road. The car crashed into a dirt embankment and rolled over. Only minor injuries were reported.

Sandy Larkin, who has lived on that section of Buena Vista for the past 40 years, said she has seen three fatal crashes on the same curve.

“People just need to slow down,” she said. “Especially in the rain.”

Richard Soria said he saw the crash unfold.

“They weren’t even going that fast,” he said. “When they hit that curve, he just lost it and the car flipped over.”

The CHP warns that drivers need to slow down on wet roads.
