Monica Leal died unexpectedly in Madera on June 15, 2018. She was 15.

Ms. Leal was born in Watsonville. She was a vivacious individual that embraced life. She loved her family and enjoyed picking on her sisters. She enjoyed being silly, especially making silly videos and playing on her phone. She loved to swim, listen to many different types of music and eat Hot Cheetos.

She is survived by her parents, Annette Marie Mercado and Adrian Leal; her sisters, Brenda Leal and Erika Leal; her BCF, Tiana; and numerous other cousins, aunts and uncles.

The visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 28 at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel located at 609 Main St. in Watsonville. Church Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29 at Green Valley Church, 376 South Green Valley Road in Watsonville, with the burial to follow directly after at Valley Public Cemetery located at 2445 East Lake Ave. in Watsonville.
