CORRALITOS — A fire that tore through an outbuilding and into a residence in the mountains above Corralitos sent a huge column of black smoke over Eureka Canyon Thursday morning.

A fire official said the fire broke out in an outbuilding just before 9 a.m. Flames eventually worked their way into a residence but firefighters were able to keep the blaze from moving into the wild land.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Firefighters were still on the scene past 11 a.m.
