A Moss Landing man died early Friday morning in a vehicle crash on Highway 1.

The California Highway Patrol said that the 28-year-old victim was riding a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle around 6:58am on Highway 1 when a man, driving a Dodge Ram pickup, pulled onto the highway from Pieri Court onto Highway 1 in front of the motorcycle.

The Suzuki then slammed into the pickup, ejecting the rider.

An official with North Monterey County Fire said the victim was taken by American Medical Response paramedics to a trauma center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The CHP said alcohol or drugs appear to have not played a role in the incident, which is still under investigation.
