The White Hawk Indian Council for Children—also known as Iztatutli—will host Xilonen, considered a day of preserving Indigenous Coming-of-Age Ceremony at Pinto Lake County Park on Saturday.
For the 42nd year in a row, the free event will feature traditional dance by the local White Hawk Dancers, various ceremonies and more.
The rites-of-passage ceremonial day serves as an arena for the community to honor young women, a tradition that dates back thousands of years.
All ages are welcome.
The event runs from 10am to 5pm Saturday at Pinto Lake County Park, 757 Green Valley Road.
A closing ceremony will take place Sunday from 11am to 2pm at Romo Park, 335 Main St. (across from Watsonville Plaza).
Working from home, I earn $165 per hour. When my neighbor told me she was now making an average of $95, I was very astonished, but now (ubd-83) I understand how it works. I now have a great deal of freedom thanks to becoming my own employer.
