New medical clinic goes skyward

WATSONVILLE—Construction is moving forward on a proposed dialysis clinic that would complement the nearby Watsonville Community Hospital.

Being built by AGI General Contracting, the 11,424-square-foot outpatient ambulatory clinic is going up on a 1.15-acre lot at 58 Hanger Way and 5 Neilson St. directly adjacent to the WCH and its emergency room.

The planned investment, including land, is estimated to total approximately $10 million for the ground-up development project. While construction got underway in April, completion is slated for January 2021.

The proposed clinic would provide 24 hemodialysis treatment stations and two peritoneal dialysis treatment rooms. The applicant indicates that the dialysis clinic would provide approximately 15-20 full-time jobs with a few part-time employees for a total of 30 new jobs at full capacity.
