Pablo Gallo of Watsonville died on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018. He was 91.
He was born on March 5, 1927 to Gorgonio Gallo and Catalina Martinez in Yahualica De Gonzalez Gallo, Jalisco, Mexico. He married Maria Dolores Rita Perez Gutierrez on May 13, 1958. They had seven children, Arturo, Celia Antonia, Juan De Dios, Pablo, Maria Dolores, Leticia and Palmira. He was a migrant farmworker for over 60 years. He was an avid gardener and loved nature. He was a boxing fan and looked forward to watching the big fights and barbecues with friends and family. He loved working out on his bike and playing checkers with his grandchildren, listening to “rancheras” and sharing stories of his childhood was his favorite pastime.
Mr. Gallo is survived by his wife, Maria Dolores; seven children, 23 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, Aug. 27 at St. Patrick’s Church in Watsonville. Rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. and the holy mass will immediately follow at 6 p.m. The burial will be privately held the next day.
