May 20, 1925 – May 7, 2018
Our precious dad passed away peacefully at the age of 92, 13 days before his 93rd birthday. He was expected to pass on Thursday (3rd) but he waited until the early hours of Monday, May 7th, which was the 15th anniversary of the passing of his loving wife Dorothy. What a love story it was and is! Peter and Dorothy are now back together dancing with the angels…we can only imagine. Oh, what joy for them. Thankful to say those last four days were very precious moments with our dad. Loving on him, holding his hands, singing and praying with him, as he lay peaceful.
Peter is survived by his six children: David Wilcox, Cindy Sturgeon, Terri (Mike) O’Dea, Mitch (Donna) Novak, John Wilcox, and Laura (Dan) Johnston; five grandchildren: Michelle, Matthew Landon, Garrett, Willie and Ryan Johnston; two great-granddaughters, Ashlee Navarro and Amber Landon. He was the best papa ever and loved with all his heart.
Peter was 1 of 15 children. He moved out to California as a young boy from Oklahoma. He served in the Navy during WWII. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 43 years until his retirement. Our parents loved to bowl and bowled in many leagues together. They loved to travel together and Dorothy was always the planner. They were very involved in First Baptist Church of Watsonville together.
We would like to thank Montecito Manor for the care and love they gave our dad during his stay there. We will have a private family burial on Friday, October 5th at Pioneer Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his loving wife Dorothy. Forever grateful for all the years we had dad with us. We love and miss him dearly.
