A powerful cold front seeped into the Central West Coast over the weekend, bringing freezing temperatures in the higher elevations and sporadic light rain, the National Weather Service said. Today will have widespread frost up until 10 a.m. Otherwise, it will be sunny with a high near 53 degrees. Tonight the low will be around 34 degrees. Wednesday will also have areas of frost before 10 a.m. Otherwise, it will be sunny with a high near 56. The overnight low will be around 35. There is a 20 percent chance of rain Thursday night. “The cold weather will hang around the rest of the week,” said Will Pi, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Monterey.
