Moreland Notre Dame School students and staff line up for their annual tribute to emergency responders early Monday for a Sept. 11 memorial ceremony. On Sept. 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked four commercial jets and flew two of them into the World Trade Center in New York City, one into the Pentagon and another into a field in Pennsylvania. Close to 3,000 people were killed and more than 25,000 were injured. Scores of firefighters and police officers died in the events that triggered a global war on terror.
