WATSONVILLE—A Watsonville man was arrested on Feb. 11 after police say he fired a gun into a residence on the 100 block of Hill Avenue.

Several people were in the home, including two children, Watsonville Police Department spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said.

Nobody was injured.

Daniel Zavala, 28, was charged with shooting into an inhabited dwelling and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, jail records showed.

Officers arrested Zavala on the night of the shooting, Pulido said.

While serving search warrants, officers found a shell casing and a gun, which is believed to have been used during the shooting.
