WATSONVILLE—Watsonville police on Thursday released photos of two men suspected of using stolen credit card information to steal money at an ATM.

Investigators believe the suspects were using manufactured cards with information lifted by card skimmers, devices often installed on gas pumps to steal credit card information.

In this case, the skimmers were installed at East Lake Gas earlier this month, Watsonville Police spokeswoman Michelle Pulido said.

Watsonville Police Detectives are working with the Secret Service to identify the two men using cloned bank cards to withdraw hundreds of dollars in cash from a local bank ATM machine.

There are more than 50 victims who suffered about $20,000 in losses, Pulido said.

The U.S. Secret Service will be analyzing evidence collected from the gas station, including five skimmers.

“We ask that you please make it a habit to check your bank accounts daily, especially if you have recently used your debit/credit card at East Lake Gas,” Pulido said. “If you come across any unusual activity on your account, report it to your bank first, and then call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call WPD Det. Tyler Wildey at 768-3356.
