WATSONVILLE—The Watsonville Police Department is asking for help from the community in finding a driver who fled after running over a man on Saturday night.

According to WPD spokeswoman Michelle Pulido, the 59-year-old victim was hit at 9:16pm on East Lake Avenue between Lincoln and Jefferson streets near the 7-Eleven store. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses described the car as possibly a 4-door Honda sedan, either brown or “roasted,” Pulido said.

Investigators believe the vehicle has significant damage to the driver’s side, bumper, hood and windshield.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. Donny Thul at 768-3315.
