SAN BENITO COUNTY — A number of earthquakes hit the area of San Benito County this morning, with at least one of them being felt by residents in Corralitos.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the first and largest earthquake occurred at around 5:58 a.m. and was measured at a 4.1 magnitude, with a depth of 6.5 kilometers. For the next few hours, at least 12 aftershocks struck the region, many hitting over a 3.0 magnitude.

The earthquakes occurred on the San Andreas Fault near Tres Pinos, about 14 miles south of Hollister.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
