Jessica Rodriguez, a sophomore already committed to play at NCAA Division I UNLV, was recently named the Monterey Bay League Gabilan division’s Pitcher of the Year by the coaches of the seven-team league.

Monte Vista Christian’s outside hitters Mattea Romo and Cassidy Schurman were named to the Gabilan division First Team, while North Monterey County High libero Malia Garcia, Pajaro Valley High outside hitter Natalia Gallegos and Watsonville High opposite Camila Cardenas all made the Pacific division First Team.

David Reckers threw six no-hit innings to lead the Aptos High Mariners past the St. Francis High Sharks, 10-1, on Tuesday in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action in Aptos.
