HS Football Preview, Week 9: ‘Catz look to keep rolling vs. Cougars

A win against Christopher (6-2, 2-2) would not only keep Watsonville (5-2, 2-1) alive in the Monterey Bay League Pacific division title chase but it would also boost their chances of earning their first Central Coast Section playoff berth since 2009.

SCCAL Baseball: 4 Sharks, a Mariner earn first team honors

HS Volleyball: SCCAL, MBL both holding volleyball jamborees

Watsonville and the five other local teams will all partake in league jamborees today at various sites. North Monterey County High and Pajaro Valley High will join the Wildcatz at North Salinas High for the Monterey Bay League Pacific division jamboree and Monte Vista Christian travels to Salinas High for the MBL-Gabilan division jamboree, while Aptos High, St. Francis High and Mt. Madonna will compete in the brand-new Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League Jamboree at Santa Cruz High. All three jamborees are set for a 9 a.m. start.

PCAL Football: ‘The beast’ named Gabilan M.V.P.

“The beast” beat out a handful of other worthy candidates for the league’s top honor after rushing for 806 yards and 16 touchdowns over seven PCAL-G games. Reyes also starred at inside linebacker for a defense that allowed just 16 points per league game.
