The racing action returns to the Ocean Speedway on Friday after a week-long break from the Independence Day holiday. This weekend’s lineup will feature the Taco Bravo Sprint Cars along with the IMCA Modifieds, Four Bangers, South Bay Dwarf Cars and Police N’ Pursuit.

Carmel, a Central Coast Section Division V finalist this season, will join Aptos, Christopher, Alvarez, Gilroy, San Benito and reigning co-champions Palma and Salinas in the PCAL-G next fall, the league announced on Tuesday.

Losik was named the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League’s Most Valuable Player, Landel won Coach of the Year for the second straight season and five other players earned all-league honors. Seniors Noah Eitzen and Christian Segura made the All-SCCAL First Team, and junior Jackson Shirley made the All-SCCAL Second Team, while senior Michael Spinelli and junior Hayden Mennie landed honorable mention.
