HS Softball Roundup, 5/4: St. Francis bounces back from tough loss to make history
The Sharks lost 9-4 Tuesday to defending SCCAL champion S.L.V. The loss eliminated the Sharks from the SCCAL title hunt, but they bounced back on Thursday with a 14-1 win over Santa Cruz High at home to set the program record for most wins in a single season (11).

Girls Track & Field: Mariners' Zlatunich commits to Cal
An avid surfer, Zlatunich won’t be too far away from the waves or home next fall while attending Cal Berkeley. She recently verbally committed to run both cross country and track for the NCAA Division I Golden Bears.
Boys CCS Volleyball: Aptos advances to D-II section final
Top-seeded Aptos High survived a five-set barnburner against No. 5 Leigh High on Thursday to advance to Saturday's Central Coast Section Division II championship match. The scores were 25-20, 35-37, 25-16, 17-25, 15-12.
HS Baseball Roundup, 5/11: Aptos names diamond after brothers Paul, Robert Bailey
Aptos High dedicated its baseball diamond to brothers Paul and Robert Bailey on Tuesday before the Mariners’ Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League game against Soquel High.
CCS Baseball: St. Francis top seed in D-III
The Sharks (18-7), second-place finishers in the SCCAL, earned the top seed in the division and will play No. 8 Pinewood High (12-3) in the quarterfinals at a time and site still to be determined.
Local Roundup, 5/18: Mariners’ tennis players bounced in first round of CCS
All three of the Aptos High Mariners’ tennis players in the Central Coast Section individual tournament lost in the first round on Tuesday at Imperial Courts Tennis Club in Aptos.
