The Aptos High star junior basketball player was named an Academic All-American by the National High School Coaches Association late last month, and also earned a spot on Cal-Hi Sports’ All-State Underclassmen Third Team.

Boys NorCal Volleyball: Losik lets play do the talking, Aptos advances to D-II semis

The No. 5-seeded Dons decided to talk a little trash to an already bouncy and hungry Kacey Losik and the senior outside hitter let his play do the talking. Losik pummeled the Acalanes defense with a game-high 21 kills, as No. 4 Aptos opened up the D-II regional playoffs with a 25-21, 25-17, 25-18 sweep.

The Santa Cruz National Cubs won the District 39 Little League Majors division Tournament of Champions on Tuesday night, beating the Capitola-Soquel Athletics, 8-0, at Ruso Field in Watsonville.
