Police detain a man on suspicion of auto theft after they stopped him in a Honda Civic that was stolen out of Gilroy on the 900 block of Main Street Tuesday. Officials said they initially pulled him over around 11:30 a.m. He then reportedly took off on foot through the woodlands around Watsonville Slough. About 20 minutes later police were able to track him down and detain him at the end of Rodriguez Street.
