A search revealed a plastic bag containing a controlled substance, suspected to be fentanyl, with an estimated street value of over $15,000. A loaded firearm magazine was also found inside the vehicle.
A further search of the driver’s home was conducted with the assistance of the S.C.A.R.E. task force (Santa Cruz County Auto Theft Reduction and Enforcement), the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team (SCCACT), and the Watsonville Police Department. Officers found and confiscated 14 firearms.
