CAPITOLA—Capitola Police on Tuesday arrested a Soquel High School student suspected of an off-campus stabbing attack that took place one day earlier on Wharf Road.

According to Det. Sgt. Leo Moreno, police responded to the 1800 block of Wharf Road at about 4:40pm for a fight involving several male subjects, during which one of them was stabbed.

He was flown to a trauma center in stable but critical condition. The suspects were seen running toward 48th Avenue.

The incident prompted lockdown calls to nearby residents.

The suspect was charged with attempted homicide, brandishing a weapon and for bringing a dangerous weapon onto school grounds. He was booked into Juvenile Hall.
