WATSONVILLE — A typical weather pattern of a mix of clouds and sun in the mornings, followed by sunny afternoons, has settled in the Monterey Bay for the next week.
“Watsonville is fairly protected by the typical morning cloud cover,” said meteorologist Scott Roe at the National Weather Service of Monterey. “While we can expect temperatures from the low 60s in the day and 70s in the afternoon here in the coastal areas, temperatures inland, like in Gilroy, will go up to around 105 by mid-day.”
Roe said temperatures will drop a bit today.
“However, a sneak preview after the holiday weekend shows that temperatures will bump up during the weekend and into next week,” Roe said. “With the passing of the summer solstice this is a little late for these high inland temperatures. It’s a little late in the year to be pushing triple digits in Gilroy and Hollister.”
