Volunteer Center’s annual awards ceremony returns May 18

SANTA CRUZVolunteer Center of Santa Cruz County, which aims to transform lives and communities for good through volunteerism and community engagement, will celebrate the 2022 Be the Difference Awards on May 18.

Presented by the Santa Cruz Community Credit Union, this year’s event will honor 38 individuals, groups and businesses who were nominated by the community and vetted by a panel of community leaders, who served as the judges.

Awards will be given in six categories to those who:

  • Promote Social & Economic Justice for All
  • Provide Health & Wellness for All
  • Support Strong & Successful Families
  • Build a Green & Sustainable Community
  • Empower Youth Success
  • Create Vibrant Arts & Cultural Experiences

Videos will highlight each winner’s contributions to the community and local elected officials will present each winner with their award. 

The ceremony will be held May 18 3:30-5pm at the Kaiser Permanente Warriors Arena, 140 Front St., Santa Cruz. Tickets are $25. The first 100 attendees will receive a special Santa Cruz Warriors swag bag.
