Clarence Savage, a resident of Watsonville for 27 years, passed away peacefully Saturday May 6, 2017, at the age of 82.  
A longtime member of the Watsonville Band, where he spearheaded the Youth Band Program, Mr. Savage is known in the music community as a master repairman of musical instruments.  A musician himself, he studied at West Virginia University and at Duquesne University, earning a Master’s Degree in Music Performance for clarinet.  After teaching at the high school level for several years in San Jose, he apprenticed in musical instrument repair, with his father, and started his own business in brass and woodwind repair in 1981.
He is survived by his wife MaryAnn Savage; their daughter and her husband Barbara and Kevin Szady; three grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law William and Janet Savage; and a loving extended family.
A Secular service will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Thursday, May 18th at 1:00 pm located at 222 E. Lake Street, Watsonville, CA 95076.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Watsonville Band at P.O. Box 1708, Watsonville, CA 95077.
