WATSONVILLE — Hermelinda Jimenez died at a Santa Cruz health care center on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018. She was 85.

Mrs. Jimenez was born to Antonio Maravilla and Luciana Garcia in Guanajuato, Mexico on July 7, 1932. She and her family have resided in this community for 40 years. She was an excellent home maker, always cooking good meals for her large family. Mrs. Jimenez was a generous person and a strong woman of faith who liked preaching the word of God. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Mrs. Jimenez is survived by her four sons, Ruben, Moises, Jesus, and Gerardo Jimenez; five daughters, Maria Elena Valencia, Maria Ramos, Connie Canchola, Alicia and Angelica Jimenez; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 13 from 5-9 p.m. Burial will take place in Mexico.
