Watsonville Post Office holds passport fair
WATSONVILLE — To help customers who otherwise cannot schedule an appointment for passport service, the Watsonville Post Office at 225 Main St. will accept walk-ins for passport applications on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Postal clerks will be on hand to provide passport information and to accept passport applications, with no appointments necessary.
To help speed up the process, customers should fill out forms ahead of time. Application forms and information on the costs and how to apply for a passport book and/or passport card can be found at usps.com/passport or travel.state.gov/passport. Customers can also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at (877) 487-2778. Customers can also email

for any questions regarding passports.
To apply for a passport, applicants need a valid form of photo identification and proof of citizenship.
• Proof of identification — You may submit items such as the following containing your signature and a photograph that is a good likeness of you: Current or previous U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, certificate of citizenship or a current and valid driver’s license, government ID or military ID.
Proof of citizenship includes any one of the following:
• Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state
• Naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship, and
• An expired passport

‘Chavela Saturdays’ begins
WATSONVILLE — Ballesteros Catering and Elkhorn Slough Brewing Co. will present “Chavela Saturdays” on Saturday and April 29 at 65 Hangar Way, Suite D in Watsonville.
From 1-8 p.m., the event will feature fish tacos and ceviche tostadas, with fish from Real Good Fish.

Aptos/La Selva Fire district meeting addresses fees
APTOS — The Board of Directors of the Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District will consider adopting a proposed resolution establishing fees for permits and services.
If adopted, the revised fees are anticipated to be effective July 1.
The district will hold a public hearing to discuss this proposed resolution at the regular board meeting scheduled for April 13 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the upstairs Multi-Purpose room at the Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District Administrative Office, located at 6934 Soquel Drive.

Dream yoga instructor to guide course
SANTA CRUZ — On Saturday and Sunday, Tenzin Wangyal, author of “The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep,” will teach dream yoga at the Live Oak Grange, 1900 17th Ave. in Santa Cruz, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The course is designed for those just beginning the practice as well as experience practitioners wishing to deepen their practice of dream yoga. Wangyal will instruct participants in the “four preparations” for sleep and the uses and methods of lucid dreaming.
