Resident of Watsonville
The world is a little dimmer with the passing of Sanda (Romano) Denove.
Born and raised in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City, Sandee married her lifetime sweetheart, Dick Denove. Two large Italian families joined and what followed were clamming and crabbing adventures, great meals and time together.
Sandee and Dick moved to Los Angeles, settled in Hollywood and started their family. While Dick was a front runner in the new television production industry, Sandee supported his efforts by entertaining his clients with gourmet meals. Sandee enjoyed and excelled at many homemaking activities: designing and sewing clothes and practical items (curtains, prom dresses, surfboard bags); refinishing furniture and gardening.
Sandee was a self-educated person. She loved reading- especially biographies of the US presidents and politicians, world leaders, entrepreneurs, and of course, movie stars and film moguls. Sandee was an avid film buff.
While she always enjoyed drawing and painting, Sandee was in her 70’s when she began her serious pursuit of watercolor painting. Her unique style in portraying people is notable.
Sandee leaves behind her daughter, Joleigh Kambic and her husband, Ken; her son, Russell and his wife, Verena; her grandchildren, Richard and his wife Jenny; Nicholas and his wife, Allie; Tony and his wife, Gina; and Anina.
Sandee’s infectious smile, her positive take on life and her never-ending energy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
