The first Santa Cruz County election results, posted at 8:15pm after polls closed statewide, showed political newcomer Eriberto Estrada with a commanding lead over incumbent Daniel Dodge Jr. for the Trustee Area 4 seat on the Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees.

Estrada had garnered 831 votes, giving him 65.9% of the vote, compared to Dodge’s 425 votes.

Similarly, Alicia Jimenez appeared headed for victory in the PVUSD Trustee Area 5 race, garnering just over 81% of the vote. Former PVUSD Trustee Jennifer Schacher had 11.6%, while Curt Wilcox trailed with 82 votes.

In Trustee Area 1, Andrew Goldnkranz was leading a pack of three candidates with 44.6% of the vote, with Meilin Obinata trailing with 34.9%. Robin Sukow had just over 20%.

The Trustee Area 7 race, meanwhile, was too close to call. Incumbent Misty Navarro had 50.86% of the vote, leading challenger Mads Realmuto by just 105 votes.
