WATSONVILLE — Alejandro “Alex” Lopez died at a Walnut Creek hospital on Monday, May 8, 2017. He was 18.

Mr. Lopez was born to Gabriel L. Morales and Juana Ramirez in Watsonville on Aug. 21, 1998. At the age of 5, he started playing soccer and became an excellent player, traveling all over the United States and even abroad with the Santa Cruz Breakers. He trained with numerous international clubs, including AS Roma. He was also a member of Major League Soccer’s Club Real Salt Lake.  He attended local schools, and had a smile that was contagious.

He is survived by his parents, Gabriel L. Morales and Juana Ramirez; five brothers, Roberto, Francisco, and Enrique Garcia, Gabriel and Geremias Lopez; and nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Sunday, May 14 from 5-9 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 7 p.m.

Burial will take place on Monday, May 15 at 1 p.m. at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
