WATSONVILLE — An assistant soccer coach was arrested Friday after allegedly soliciting sexual acts from underage players.
According to Watsonville Police, a Pajaro Valley High School resource officer reported that a 15-year-old student told her counselor that her soccer coach had sent her and at least one other teen girl a photo of his genitalia through social media.
The suspect, 18-year-old Alexis Ponce-Mendoza, is an assistant coach for an independent soccer league not affiliated with the high school.
While interviewing the victims, detectives learned that the suspect was also soliciting sexual acts from the underage girls, police said.

Ponce-Mendoza was arrested at his Watsonville home Friday afternoon and booked into county jail. His bail was set at $20,000.
