Gene Harding, beloved husband and life partner of Karen Harding lost his long and hard fought battle with cancer on Saturday, January 5, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his brother Rod Harding, his mother and stepfather Shirley and Jerry Stroh, his aunt Judy Souza, and his grandparents Virginia and Don Christmore.

He is survived by his wife Karen, his sister Valerie Hunter, his father and stepmother Gerry and Debbie Harding, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom live locally.

Native to Santa Cruz and graduate of Harbor High, Gene later attended classes at Cabrillo and San Jose State.  For 25 years he worked in the high tech industry and later as a realtor.

As a child he moved every six months, so when he settled as an adult, he settled hard, living in his last home for over 30 years.  Family, home and community became the center of his life and his greatest source of joy and happiness.  Walking through life with Gene was a very gracious thing.

A mass will be held at Holy Eucharist Church at 527 Corralitos Road, Corralitos, on Friday January 18 at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of Santa Cruz, 940 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
