WATSONVILLE — Genevieve “Juanita” Martinez Diaz died peacefully surrounded by her family at Watsonville Community Hospital on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. She was 86.

She enjoyed dancing, watching movies, staying indoors and being surrounded by her loved ones. She was devoted to her family and their happiness.

She is survived by her children, Elidia Diaz and Ernesto Diaz; siblings, Virginia Delgado, Lupe Lugan, Gene and Ray Martinez; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 7 from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s Church with a final blessing ceremony to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park.
