The Cabrillo College Seahawks swept the Monterey Peninsula College Lobos Tuesday, 25-12, 25-14, 25-20, to close out their conference schedule with an undefeated 12-0 record and claim their 12th consecutive Coast Conference title.

Currently ranked fourth overall in the state, Cabrillo (25-2,12-0) will likely draw a top-two seed in the upcoming NorCal Tournament and host at least one game next week at the Adobe Palace.

Lina Fiso, a sophomore from Vallejo, led her squad with 16 kills from the middle blocker position. Her teammates Jolie Samuelson and Amanda Meserve, both sophomores, each added nine kills.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Las Positas 60, Cabrillo 46 – The Cabrillo College Seahawks lost to the visiting Las Positas Hawks on Nov. 10 after falling behind by 12 in the first half.

Cabrillo (2-1) shot 28 percent from the field in the contest, and went 3-of-30 from beyond the arc.

Sophomore guard Trey Whitely led the Seahawks with 14 points and six assists. Whitely also had four rebounds, two steals and a block on the night.

Yeskin Williams, a sophomore from Pearland, Texas, had 10 rebounds, four of which were on the offensive end of the court, seven points on 3-of-7 shooting, two blocks and two steals.

The Seahawks are scheduled to travel to Shasta College this weekend to participate in the Shasta Invitational.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Cabrillo sweeps – The Seahawks, last year’s Coast Conference South champions, won all three games by at least nine points at the Santa Barbara City College Tournament over the weekend.

Heleyna Hill, a sophomore guard from San Jose, got off to a hot start, averaging 33 points and five assists in the three victories over San Mateo College, MiraCosta College and Solano College.

Cabrillo travels to San Francisco City College on Nov. 29.
