Linton Acliese (26), Kobe Ordonio (26) and Tynan Velasquez (25) combined to score 77 points in Cabrillo College’s Coast Conference South division title-clinching win over West Valley College on Friday night on the road.

Acliese also had 11 rebounds, and Velasquez added 12 assists, five steals and three rebounds for Cabrillo, which finished off the regular season with a 16-10 overall record and a 9-3 conference standing.

The Seahawks, now three-time reigning CC-S champions, will hit the road for their California Community College Athletic Association NorCal playoff game on Friday night.

Cabrillo plays at Columbia College in Sonora at 7 p.m.

WOMEN’S JC BASKETBALL

• Mission 93, Cabrillo 75 –  Teal Maxiner (25), Pauli Pappas (20) and Grace Giguiere (20) combined to scored 65 points in Cabrillo College’s Coast Conference South division loss to Mission College on Friday night.

Despite the loss, Cabrillo (20-4, 10-2) still earned a share of its first conference title since 1979 with Foothill College.

Giguiere had 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Pappas chipped in six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

The Seahawks received the No. 12 seed in the CCCAA NorCal playoffs, and will travel to play No. 5 Merced College on Saturday.

JC BASEBALL

• Delta 17, Cabrillo 7 – Cabrillo College gave up eight runs over the final two innings in a preseason loss to Delta College on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks (3-9) scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth, but their rally fall short.

Jonah Shabry was 3-for-4 with a scored run, and Josh Lane went 2-for-5 with two RBI, while Jake Keaschall finished 2-for-3 with a scored run and a double.

Cabrillo finished with 14 hits, but left 10 runners on base.

Josh Rodriguez (1-2) took the loss after six innings of work. He allowed seven hits, nine runs and three walks, while striking out three.

Cabrillo plays at Sacramento City College today at 6 p.m.

HS BASEBALL

• WHS alumni game – The Watsonville High baseball team is holding an alumni game on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Watsonville head coach Leroy Dozal said there are still spots available for the alumni team.

There is a $30 participation fee, which also includes a dryfit baseball shirt to keep.
