Local Roundup, 4/10: Deleissegues resets record in 400 at O-Condon

St. Francis High’s Chloe Deleissegues lowered her record time in the 400-meters at the inaugural North Monterey County High O-Condon Invitational on Friday in Castroville.

Deleissegues finished second in the event in 1 minute, 1.52 seconds.

N.M.C.’s Jocelyn Cazarez won the shot put with a toss of 31 feet, 10 inches and also placed first in the discus at 108-10. Her teammate Brenda Bermudez won the pole vault by clearing 7-6.

Also for the Condors, Sarah Delgado finished second in the 800 in 2:27.4, her teammate Faith Mora took second in 3,200 with a time of 12:08.27, Alexus Espino’s leap of 4-6 in the high jump was good enough for second, Nayla Anastacio was second in the long jump at 15-3 and the 4×400 relay team placed second in 4:18.76.

Watsonville High’s Jackie Barocio finished second in the triple jump at 31-0 and third in the long jump with a leap of 14-7.

• Salazar hits season record – Watsonville’s Daniela Salazar notched a season record in the 800 with a time of 2:18.84 at the Acadia Invitational on Friday.

Salazar’s time placed 26th among 47 runners in the Open division.



• Villanueva wins – Watsonville’s Jose Villanueva took first in the triple jump with a mark of 41-9.75 at Friday’s inaugural N.M.C. O-Condon Invitational in Castroville.

N.M.C.’s Gabriel Garcia won the pole vault (9-6) and Fernando Perez was first in the 300 hurdles (46.2) and second in the 110 hurdles (18.1).Teammates R.J. Scally (high jump, 5-4), Victor Martinez (shot put, 43-9),

Watsonville’s Rolando Llamas was second in the discus (115-4) and fifth in the shot put (42-0.5). Fellow Wildcat Jesse Mandujano was second in the 300 hurdles (46.66) and the 400 (54.49).

Aptos High’s Jackson A. Schenone finished runner-up in the 1,600 (4:35.77).



• Ohlone 8, Cabrillo 2 – Josh Lane was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Cabrillo College’s Coast Conference Pacific division loss on Saturday.

Cabrillo (10-19, 3-6) had six hits and left eight runners stranded.

Danny Cervantes took the loss after 3 2-3 innings of work. The St. Francis alumnus allowed five hits, two runs and four walks.

Cabrillo returns to action today at home against Hartnell College at 2:30 p.m.
