The Pajaro Valley High football team lost on Friday against San Lorenzo Valley, 34-0, in non-league play at Cabrillo College.

The Grizzlies had trouble keeping up with the Cougars from the start, getting outscored 27-0 in the first half.

Pajaro Valley has been held to just 14 points in three games this season.

S.L.V. senior quarterback RJ Kindred finished with three touchdown passes. He connected with Dylan Arroyo, Jaden Hunter and Andre Giandana. 

Chris Markey added a pair of scores on runs of 25 and 10 yards. 

The Grizzlies (0-3) play at Mendota (0-3) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Watsonville 2, St. Francis 0: The Wildcatz won by forfeit as the Sharks canceled Thursday’s game with an insufficient number of healthy players heading into the week.

Up next, the Sharks (1-2) hit the road on Friday to play Harker (1-1-1) in San Jose at 7 p.m., while the Wildcatz (2-1) host Burlingame (0-2) at 7:30 p.m.

Girls volleyball

Santa Cruz 3, Watsonville 0: The Wildcatz fell to the Cardinals on Friday in three sets, 25-13, 25-16, 25-11, in non-league play.

Watsonville (2-5, 0-1) will square off against Rancho San Juan (0-6, 0-2) on Sept. 17 in PCAL-Santa Lucia action with first serve scheduled at 6:30 p.m. 

Mount Madonna 3, at Scotts Valley 0: Paola Jacobs finished with nine kills and 13 digs for the Hawks in Thursday night’s win against the Falcons in three sets, 25-22, 25-21, 26-24 in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action.

Savannah Cambell recorded 26 assists and five aces, while Kahlan Tervalon tallied eight kills for Mt. Madonna. 

AnMei Dasbach-Prisk and Tabby Hardin-Zollo had 11 digs each. Eve Willis and Mariah Cohen had five kills each for the Hawks (2-1, 1-0), who play against Aptos on Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Aptos 3, S.L.V. 0: The Mariners bounced back with a win against the Cougars on Thursday in three sets in SCCAL action.

Aptos (5-5, 1-1) will hit the road to play against Mt. Madonna in league play on Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Soledad 3, Pajaro Valley 1: The Grizzlies fell to the Aztecs on Thursday in four sets in the teams’ Pacific Coast Athletic League Cypress division opener.

Up next, Pajaro Valley (2-3, 0-1) will host Anzar on Sept. 17 in PCAL-Cypress action with first serve scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Trinity Christian 3, North Monterey County 0: The Condors lost to the Warriors on Thursday in three sets, 25-17, 25-22, 25-13, in PCAL-Santa Lucia play.

Eva Prewitt recorded a team-high 12 kills and nine digs, while April Vogelphol finished eight kills and five aces for Trinity Christian.

Up next, N.M.C. will host Stevenson on Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m in league play.

Men’s soccer

American River 2, at Cabrillo 0: The Seahawks fell the Beavers on Friday in non-conference play.

Cabrillo finished with eight shots on goal but American River blocked each attempt to record the shutout.

Carlos Salazar finished with six saves for the Seahawks (2-1), who play against Santa Rosa on Sept. 17 at 2 p.m.
