The Mt. Madonna Hawks took down Soquel High Knights, who were previously undefeated in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play, on Tuesday in a 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 sweep.

Mara Peruzzi had 11 kills and 14 digs, Paola Jacobs added 10 kills, five digs and two aces and Indigo Kelly made 23 assists.

Mt. Madonna (6-1, 4-1) travels to Aptos High today at 6:30 p.m. for a match against the four-time defending league champion Mariners.

• MVC 3, Alvarez 0 – Monte Vista Christian swept Alvarez High, 25-14, 25-12, 25-23, on Tuesday night in a Monterey Bay League Gabilan division match.

The Mustangs (8-6, 3-1) had 17 aces as a team, Cassidy Schurman and Mattea Romo combined for 20 kills.

M.V.C. travels to San Benito High tonight at 6:30 p.m.

• Aptos 3, SLV 1 – The Aptos High Mariners beat the San Lorenzo Valley High Cougars 25-13, 15-25, 25-12, 25-9 on Tuesday in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League action.

Sierra Martin and Cam Dueck each had 10 digs and the Mariners (3-7, 3-2) totaled 11 aces.

Aptos hosts Mt. Madonna today at 6:30 p.m.

• Seaside 3, Pajaro Valley 2 – The Pajaro Valley High Grizzlies fell 25-20, 25-12, 20-25, 22-25, 15-6 to the Seaside High Spartans on Tuesday night in Monterey Bay League Pacific division action.

Jaqui Lopez had 20 assists, Julie Che added 12 kills, and Kayla Salazar chimed in with five digs.

P.V. (8-5, 1-3) continues its season on Oct. 10 at Gilroy High.



• Soquel 11, Aptos 4 – The Aptos High Mariners fell 11-4 to the Soquel High Knights on Tuesday in Monterey Bay League Gabilan division play.

Matt Morse scored two goals and Tony Stranger made five saves.

Aptos (3-7, 1-5) hosts Santa Cruz High on Oct. 3 at 5 p.m.



• Soquel 16, Aptos 5 – Skylar Poulos scored three goals, Kristen Malone added two but it wasn’t enough for the Aptos High Mariners to pull the upset of the Soquel High Knights in a 16-5 Monterey Bay League Gabilan division loss on Tuesday.

Aptos (10-3, 5-1) hosts Santa Cruz High on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.



• Alisal 5, MVC 2 – The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs lost their Monterey Bay League Gabilan division match against Alisal High, 5-2, on Tuesday.

Grace Sumares won in No. 2 singles and the Mustangs’ No. 1 doubles team of Hannah Snyder and Catherin Chen also won.

• St. Francis 7, Scotts Valley 0 – The St. Francis High Sharks shutout the Scotts Valley High Falcons on Tuesday in Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League play.

Katherine Casper, Gabi Gutierrez and Sophia Fryn all won their singles matches in straight sets.
