A man suffered serious burns early Tuesday morning when the car he was in caught fire while parked between 17 Gardner Ave. and Auto Zone on Freedom Boulevard. The fire was initially reported just after 3 a.m. The BMW 325i was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived. Watsonville Fire Division Chief Rob Ryan said the cause of the fire is not yet known and that the incident is still under investigation. The victim was taken to an out-of-the-county trauma center.
