SANTA CRUZ COUNTY — County Administrative Officer Carlos J. Palacios announced that Robin Bolster-Grant is the county’s new cannabis licensing manager.

A 16-year employee of the Santa Cruz County Planning Department, Bolster-Grant has extensive experience with county codes and environmental regulations, CEQA compliance and public collaboration. In her role with the county, Bolster-Grant has worked frequently with cannabis dispensary owners, cultivators and neighbors.

“Robin has demonstrated great skill in working with the public and an ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment,” Palacios said. “We look forward to her leadership as we work to finalize our cannabis rules in a manner that protects the environment, provides jobs and preserves neighborhoods.”

“We have a great team in place at the Cannabis Licensing Office, and I look forward to working with them during these critical next few months and beyond,” Bolster-Grant said. “We are eager to work with all stakeholders as we meet the challenges ahead.”

Most recently, Bolster-Grant was a principal planner with the county. In addition to her undergraduate work, Bolster-Grant has a master’s in urban planning from San Jose State University (2012), and a juris doctorate from Monterey College of Law (2016), where she was chosen as class speaker. She is an active member of the California State Bar.
