Garden Club of Los Altos awards scholarship
Foothill College student Lori Morris received a $1,200 scholarship from the Garden Club of Los Altos in recognition of her outstanding work in Foothill’s Horticulture Department.
Morris, a part-time student since 2009, has maintained a 4.0 grade-point average while raising three children and running her own landscape staging and design business.
A single mother, Morris said balancing school, work and her home life has been a challenge, and she struggles to make ends meet. She expressed her gratitude for the scholarship to club members. Morris said she plans to continue her studies at Foothill to increase her knowledge of horticulture design and plant material and to remain current in her field of study.
