Aldina Real Estate’s fourth annual Business Expo Charity Chili Cook-Off Contest was held Saturday. Businesses competed to impress a panel of judges for the best chili, who then donated their winnings to a charity of their choice. First place received $1,000, second place $750 and third place $500. Aldina Maciel, owner/broker of Aldina Real Estate, said the event grows every year, with 15 charities hoping to benefit. “We are so excited to be able to support these charities so they can support our community,” she said. The event also featured live music by The Ville. Rafael Suarez of Farmers Insurance received first place, donating the winnings to CASA of Santa Cruz County.
