Nelly Vaquera-Boggs (right), president of the Pajaro Valley Federation of Teachers, stands with union members from the Pajaro Valley Unified School District on March 18 in San Francisco during a three-day convention of the California Federation of Teachers. The event served as a stage to elect new officers, vote for resolutions that determined the union’s directors, honor selected members as well as time to engage socially. American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten came from New York to address the group. They also staged a noisy demonstration with a live band in Union Square to support of community college teachers of San Francisco.
