A crew from Auto Care Towing of Watsonville hooks up a large motorboat to a flatbed truck Aug. 9 in Moss Landing after the rig washed ashore. The boat owner said he ran out of gas about a mile and a half from Moss Landing Harbor. That’s when the ocean tides took over and washed his boat, called Sea Captain, onto the beach. It had to be dragged along the sand over a mile before being housed onto the flatbed. No injuries were reported.
