Photos: Apple City Jamboree | HS football

The Apple City Jamboree was back in action for first time in two years after the football event was canceled last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hundreds of fans filled the stands at Watsonville High to cheer for the host Wildcatz, Monte Vista Christian School, Pajaro Valley and St. Francis high schools.

The teams’ offenses were able to play at least three series that were 10 plays per series. Official scores and stats were not kept, but there were a handful of touchdowns scored and turnovers forced by the defense.

Other local teams competing on Friday include Aptos High, who was in a jamboree against Leland and host Milpitas.

San Lorenzo Valley High, Santa Cruz High, Scotts Valley High, Soquel High, North Monterey County High and Christopher High of Gilroy all competed at a jamboree hosted by Harbor High.

Next up, the schools will head into Week 1 of the regular season.
