Richard Bruce Streig, 68, of Watsonville, CA died peacefully Thursday, January 4, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at Watsonville Community Hospital. Richard was born at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland CA. Richard was a 6th generation Pajaro Valley resident, residing the majority of his life in Corralitos and Watsonville.
Richard spent his life dedicated to his career with 7Up, in sales; and his passions surrounding anything outdoors. He spent his free time teaching his love of the outdoors to his children, nieces and nephews. His passions, taught to him by his father and adapted to his own, were fishing, specifically fly-fishing, duck hunting and enjoying nature. He was and always will be a loving son, father, brother, uncle and friend, beloved by all.
Richard is survived by his mother, Vera Dodge Streig, brothers Dave, Mark and Eric, sons Jeremy and Brett, nieces and nephews Ashley, Courtney, James, Melissa, Charlie, and Casey, Sister-In-Laws Jan, Janece and Debi. He was preceded in death by his father Cmdr. Frederick James Streig.
A celebration of life will be held by his family, Saturday, February 3rd at the Corralitos Padres Community Center, located at 35 Browns Valley Rd., Corralitos CA 95076, beginning at 12:00 pm.
